Travel of an Artist
Travel has always been a vital part of my life as an artist. Every journey—whether for teaching, exhibitions, workshops, or personal exploration—has shaped the way I see and create art. As I travelled across different regions of India, I observed new landscapes, met diverse people, and discovered rich cultural stories that influenced my artistic vision.
Visiting historical places, ancient temples, forts, museums, and cultural centres deepened my understanding of Indian heritage. These experiences helped me appreciate traditional craftsmanship, architecture, and the artistic practices that have evolved over centuries. Each visit strengthened my connection to the roots of Indian art.
During my travels, I often carried a sketchbook or simply relied on observation. Local lifestyles, festivals, folk traditions, and regional crafts became continuous sources of inspiration. Many of these impressions later found their way into my paintings, my teaching methods, and my creative collaborations.
Travel has also taught me how deeply art and culture are connected to everyday life. It has enriched my perspective as a fine art teacher and as a practising artist.
For me, travel is not just movement—it is continuous learning. Every place I visit adds a new layer to my creativity, shaping the art I make and the stories I share.
